SEMARANG – The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), successfully organized an international lecture series titled “Lecturer Online in UNDIP Global Classroom.” The program featured Dr. Eka Lutfi Septiani, a researcher from Hiroshima University, Japan, who shared her expertise on nanostructured materials for photocatalytic applications.
The lecture series was conducted online through Zoom in two sessions on May 4 and May 25, 2026. The event attracted students, lecturers, and researchers who were interested in the latest developments in materials science and photocatalysis.
During the lectures, Dr. Eka explained the importance of nanostructured materials in improving photocatalytic performance. She highlighted their potential applications in renewable energy conversion, wastewater treatment, and green hydrogen production. These technologies are increasingly important for addressing global energy and environmental challenges.
The event also featured Prof. Yayuk Astuti from Universitas Diponegoro as a discussant. Her insights and discussions enriched the sessions and helped participants better understand the connection between fundamental chemistry and real-world research applications.
Participants actively joined the question-and-answer sessions, discussing challenges in nanomaterial synthesis and opportunities for future research collaboration between UNDIP and Hiroshima University.
This international lecture series reflects UNDIP’s commitment to providing global learning experiences and promoting international academic collaboration. It also supports the university’s mission to inspire students and encourage innovation in science and technology for the benefit of society.
